Psychological first aid comprises a set of actions designed to reduce stress caused by a traumatic event. These efforts are based on dialogue and active listening. Their correct application psychologically prepares the affected person to face the crisis, express themselves assertively, regulate emotions appropriately, think rationally, and make decisions that ensure social, occupational, and personal functioning.
